I have over 20 years experience in Food Safety and Quality Management.
I became a qualified Quality Management System Auditor in 1994 and have been writing ISO 9001 complaint food safety and quality management systems and extensive Food Safety HACCP Systems for over 15 years.
I have wealth of management experience and practical use of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems in the food industry.
My management roles have included Laboratory Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager, Technical and Processing Manager, Technical Manager, Technical and Development Manager and Group Technical Manager and so I have a broad knowledge of departments that operate within a company which is highly valuable when documenting policies and procedures relating to those activities. Not only this but practical knowledge of how to implement systems means that better understanding of company requirements is passed on to each and every employee.
I started my career with an honours degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Durham University.
My first position within the food industry was as a Management Trainee, within 6 months I was appointed Laboratory Manager, then Production Manager, then Quality Assurance Manager.
At 27 I became the youngest Technical Manager and Lead Assessor in the company.
During my career I have worked in a variety of roles for different international food businesses.
As a Technical and Development Manager I have commissioned some of the most technically advanced facilities in the UK.

Outside of work my interests are football, pool, skiing and scuba diving.
